  1. i wanted to like this book but found it too slow and predictable. i was bored before half way thru it . sorry Rating: 2 / 5

  2. This book was incredibly long and boring. I was shocked how many positive reviews it received. The characters are mostly two dimensional and the storyline jumped a lot. The main character has too many suitors and her lack of emotion towards any of them was quite annoying. I was 80% through the book and still had no idea who she was going to end up with. Also, the main character was very inconsistent. One moment she is going against societal norms and the next moment she’s listening to men bash her without even blinking or standing up for herself. The book is rather gloomy and depressing. I was absolutely bored in the middle of the book and started skimming it until the end. I wouldn’t recommend anyone actually read this book. Rating: 2 / 5

  3. This book was painful to get through. The story line was less than interesting and Im suprised it recieved so many great reviews. I am a sucker for historical novels, but I had to stop half way through and skip to the end to see who she ended up wth. I hated this book because it was a waste of my time. Rating: 1 / 5

  4. cute and fun book to read with some interesting facts. straddles the fine line between trashy books and literature. easy read Rating: 3 / 5

  5. Quite boring and slow moving. The writing is stilted — the author would rather tell than show us. I will avoid future books by this author. Rating: 1 / 5
